Some Powerful Natural Liver Cleansers

The liver performs over 500 different jobs in the body, from filtering blood to producing bile, which is needed to complete digestion of foods. The liver can work hard, but it can also be damaged easily by toxin factors such as alcohol and smoking, as well as lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise. Often the liver does not show any symptoms of a problem for many years, and sometimes until it is too late.

So, what can we do about it? We can cleanse our liver naturally with common food items or herbal/ayurvedic products as listed below.
1. Warm Lemon Water – Warm lemon water is a great way to detox your liver every single morning. This isn’t lemonade, so don’t add sugar or anything else. Just purified water and a healthy dose of fresh lemon juice.
2. Dandelion – Yes, the edible pesky weed. Dandelion is one of the bitter herbs whose healing properties cover a variety of health issues. They are rich in vitamins and minerals. All parts of the plant are used medically by herbalists around the world. The leaves are edible and can be added to salads, cooked as any other leafy-green vegetable and are used in some coffee substitutes. The flowers are used to add a special flavor to some wines. Both Native Americans and the Chinese have used dandelion for centuries for culinary and medicinal treatments including cleansing the liver.

3. Avocados – A Japanese study found that avocados contain compounds that can protect the liver from damage. When compared with 21 other fruits, avocados had the most promise in protecting the liver from galactosamine, a powerful toxin that has been shown to produce a liver damage much like human viral hepatitis. While avocados are high in fat, much of the fat is of the monounsaturated variety, which has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels.
4. Artichokes – This delicious vegetable is a powerful liver protector because it contains a flavonoid called silymarin, a strong antioxidant. Studies on animals have shown that silymarin may be helpful against liver toxicity and cancer. When it’s in season, steam and eat a couple of artichoke flowers to keep your liver performing at its optimum.
5. Turmeric – A powerful spice with a long list of benefits, turmeric is said to not only protect the liver from damage, but also encourage regeneration of liver cells. In addition, it increases natural bile production and aids in keeping the body toxin-free. It’s also a very potent anti-inflammatory which helps relieve pain.
6. Kamalahar — Kamalahar is a herbal or ayurvedic product which is very effective in the cleansing of liver and also in the treatment of liver disorders such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver, ascites and jaundice. It is composed of the herbs Tecoma undulata, Phyllanthus urinaria, Embelia ribes, Taraxacum officinale, Nyctanthes arbortritis and Terminalia arjuna. These herbs have been used over many years by people in China, India and other countries for the treatment of liver disorders and to cleanse the liver.

Cleansing our liver is crucial, so we should not hesitate to incorporate these liver-cleansing solutions into our life for a healthy liver, which equates to a healthy life.

Natural way to lower liver enzymes and cleanse liver

Liver damage can begin with very few signs or symptoms. However, once the enzymes in our liver become elevated, health issues will follow quickly in the form of hepatitis, cirrhosis, or fatty liver disease.

Here are some easy lifestyle changes we can make to protect liver and lower liver enzymes
One of the quick wins that we can do is stop drinking alcohol. It’s already difficult enough for the liver to process alcohol. That’s why, if we imbibe a little too much and too often, our liver will suffer damage. The best thing we can do to lower high liver enzymes is to stop drinking alcohol.
The second thing that we can do is lessen exposure to toxins. Environmental toxins, such as chemical cleaners, sunscreens, personal hygiene products, perfumes, detergents, disinfectant or paint fumes, and even second hand cigarette smoke contain dangerous additives that will damage our liver.
The third thing that we can do is cut processed foods such as boxed, pre-prepared foods that contain excess sodium and refined sugar. A quick path to a healthier liver is to cut these completely from our diet and opt for fresh and whole foods instead. When you’re craving sugar, look for natural alternatives, like honey or Stevia.

We should eat whole foods and focus our diet on organic, whole foods with no added preservatives. We should make it a habit to do the bulk of your shopping around the grocery store’s exterior—in the fresh produce section—as opposed to the inner aisles where the shelved, processed foods are kept.
Also we should detox with natural herbs. One such herbal product is Kamalahar which is very effective in liver cleansing.

Cleansing the liver keeps body healthy and can help with weight maintenance

Cleansing the liver is essential not only for long term health & weight maintenance but it can also help with weight loss if it is supplemented with proper diet control and exercise. Cleansing or detoxifying helps the liver to produce better, more efficient bile which, in turn, aids the body in breaking down fat more effectively and flushing the body of unwanted and dangerous toxins. Experts agree that the liver can be cleansed by using specific supplements to achieve an overall healthy lifestyle. Making liver healthy by cleansing this vital organ of unhealthy, potentially dangerous toxins, helps it to function more efficiently and avoid toxin-related weight gain.

The liver, the body's largest internal organ, is responsible for a variety of essential roles, including filtering harmful substances from the blood, supporting the digestive system, controlling blood sugar, changing food into energy and regulating fat storage. The liver chemically breaks down toxins, whether it be through foods consumed or pollutants in the air that we breathe. Bile that is produced in the liver, filters and eliminates these potentially harmful toxins. However, if the bile becomes excessively burdened by toxins, the liver may become sluggish. This inability to operate efficiently can result in unwanted weight gain and difficulty in losing excess weight. Using natural herbs to cleanses the liver of toxins, ensures the highest level of liver function.
