Liver infection and liver lesions symptoms and causes

Liver infection can be classified in several categories according to the infecting agent like bacteria, virus or parasite. Liver infection can be occurring due to both primary hepatitis viruses and secondary causes where liver is affected during viral infection like herpes simplex virus or HIV virus.

Major sign and symptoms that are related with liver infections are given below:
Abdominal pain: Patient feels abdominal pain when liver infection occurs. This pain can be mild or chronic. It is one of the major liver infection symptoms.

Intestinal bleeding: It is one of the major liver Infection symptoms. When liver become virally affected or liver become infected, intestinal bleeding occur.

Jaundice: It is the major symptoms of any liver disease.  Bilirubin level becomes high due to liver infection.

Loss of interest in sex: Unwilling of sex is another common liver infection symptoms.

Nausea and vomiting: Person who have liver infection, most of the time they feel like vomiting and nausea. It is most common liver infection symptoms.

Swelling: Swelling in leg and abdomen that caused by fluid accumulation.

Weakness: Sometimes people feel weakness when liver become inflamed. It also causes of liver infection.

Liver lesions
Liver lesions stand abnormal growth, wounds, cysts, sores or damage of general tissues in the liver. Normally liver lesions symptoms are exhibited in patient after age of 40. Usually most of the liver lesions growths are benign means non cancerous. In many cases treatment do not require for liver lesion.

Cause and symptoms of liver lesions may depend on several factors. Most of time liver lesions do not exhibit any symptoms. Nausea, fever, loss of appetite, chills, pain in the abdomen region, feeling that the abdominal is full, bleeding and jaundice are major symptoms of liver lesions.

Liver lesions can be two types. 1. Solid lesions.2. Lesions filled with liquid. If the lesions are confined to a specific part of the liver, then these are called focal lesion. Some lesions that are spread around the liver, that are called diffused lesions.

Some medical imaging methods like computer Tomography (CT scan), like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and ultrasound are used to detect causes ant symptoms of liver lesions. But in extreme causes a liver biopsy may be required to detect the appropriate position of malignancy.

Liver lesions causes
Excessive accumulation of fat is one of the major liver lesions causes. Excess accumulation of iron, hepatitis B and C, cirrhosis, physical injury of the liver are also major liver lesions causes. Cysts in the bile ducts, Adenoma, hormonal change are also responsible for liver lesion.  Liver lesion that is malignant can be caused by hepatocellular carcinomas.

Depending on sign and symptoms of liver lesions, doctor prescribes the treatment.

Inflamed liver
Inflamed liver can occur due to various factors. The major factors are given below:

  • Viral infection is one of the major causes of inflamed liver.
  • Hepatitis A and hepatitis C are the most common viral infection that causes inflamed liver.
  • Alcoholic hepatitis is another form of hepatitis, that occur due to intake of excessive amount of alcohol that causes inflamed liver.
  • Drug side effect is another cause of inflamed liver.
  • Exposure of toxins or harmful chemical can also increase the risk of inflame liver.
  • Bacterial infection can also be responsible for inflame liver.

Inflamed liver symptoms
Most common inflamed liver symptoms are described below:

  • Loss of appetite and weight become loss.
  • Abnormal menstrual cycle is common inflamed liver symptoms for women.
  • Jaundice, dark urine, Yellow discoloration of the skin are another major inflamed liver symptoms.
  • Yellowing the white portion of the eye.
  • Body malaise and feeling are other inflamed liver symptoms.
  • Swelling of liver.
  • Feeling discomfort.
  • Feeling mild pain in the upper right side of abdomen.
  • Body aches
